Aviation – Not Only for Men

BAA Training joins Women of Aviation Worldwide Week (WOAW) and invites ladies to discover pilot career opportunities open not only for men.

According to global statistics, 9746 women are working as the first officers in the airlines worldwide and there are 2630 female captains. Female pilots represent just over 5% of all pilots in the world. There could be many more! For example, India is the world leader according to the number of women pilots with 12.41% female first officers and just 4.38% female captains flying for the airlines.

Does the aviation industry need so many pilots? According to the annual Boeing forecasts, air travel will increase 2.5 times in the next 20 years. Moreover, it means an increasing demand for pilots – the airlines will need 804,000 new pilots.

Airlines are already facing a pilot shortage and take a variety of measures encouraging young people to choose a pilot career. What do you know about female airline pilots?
